‘Obama Watching’

Obama Watching is a chronicle of the last two years of American politics. Andrew Roberts began writing a monthly dispatch for Standpoint when he moved to New York at the end of 2011, a year before Barack Obama’s re-election as US President.

Taken together, these essays tell the story of the year long build-up to the 2012 presidential election and the beginning of Obama’s second term. Roberts also uses these dispatches to tackle the long-term trends and timeless truths of American politics.
