Concert Halls, Dinosaurs and Budget Air Travel

Here’s The Independent piece resulting from my mishap at the Proms the other weekend. Just because we classical music lovers are dinosaurs, that doesn’t mean we want to live in a swamp. And why going to a concert hall is too often like budget air travel…

I realise now that in the round-up of concert halls I like, I forgot to include The Sage, Gateshead, which is possibly the finest in the UK. Great hall, great location, great architecture, great atmosphere.
