About Hugh Thomas
Hugh Thomas is a cross-party member of the House of Lords. His career has encompassed both America and Europe, history and politics, as a professor at New York and Boston Universities and as Chairman of the Centre for Policy Studies in London. The final volume of his history of the Spanish Empire, World Without End: The Global Empire of Philip II, will be published by Allen Lane in July.
