Tony Blair has written a fantastic piece for the Wall Street Journal about ‘making Muslim integration work'. As ever, it is spot on. His piece reminds us of the clarity and sense of purpose which pervaded his administration, and which is so desperately lacking today.

Today's Daily Telegraph has featured research from a recent paper I co-authored with my former colleague, Jacob Amis, which covers, among other things, Anwar al-Awlaki's time in the UK.

Since the revelations that Roshonara Choudhry was encouraged to attempt the murder of Stephen Timms MP by Anwar al-Awlaki's online sermons, Youtube have begun removing Awlaki's videos from their server, and they have quite a big job on their hands. Whether or not this is an effective tactic to prevent online radicalisation is debatable, but not in the remit of this post (for more on that issue see here). Today, we are looking at a British online network of Awlaki supporters and promoters, many of whom seem to be splintered from Anjem Choudary's now banned Islam4UK/al-Muhajiroun organisation.

Tomorrow evening I'm going to be participating in a discussion about the Caldicott Inquiry which looked into the radicalisation of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab at UCL. As readers will know, Abdulmutallab is the UCL graduate who attempted to detonate a bomb sewn into the lining of his underwear while travelling on a transatlantic flight last Christmas.
